Let's #LAMBwatch True Detective Season 2!

#LAMBwatch is a LAMB feature where we (virtually) watch a movie or TV show together and tweet throughout, tagging our tweets with, you guessed it, #LAMBwatch. Examples of past #LAMBwatches can be found by clicking here.

Let's #LAMBWatch The Leftovers!

Any LAMB members watching The Leftovers?

The show, centered around a fictional New York town after a Rapture-like event caused 2% of the world's population to disappear, airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. on HBO. It's an interesting, if somewhat frustrating, show. Almost everything in the first episode was confusing and mysterious and I'm not really sure what a lot of the characters' motivations are. The second episode was solid, however, and now I'm pretty much hooked.

Anyhoo, I'll be watching every week and I'd love for other LAMB members (or anyone!) to join me in a live tweet-along or "#LAMBWatch" as we call it around here. Yes, we've done this sort of thing with movies a few times, but never with a TV show. It'll probably work a little better due to the fact that we don't have to hit "play" on our DVD players and/or streaming devices. Just tune in and tweet!

#LAMBWatch: Demolition Man

The second installment of #LAMBWatch had it all - explosions, Rob Schneider, virtual sex, and, of course, Sylvester Stallone! Bubbawheat from Flights, Tights, and Movie Nights (a Demolition Man if there ever was one) was a big participant this time around and, as such, he gets the first ever #LAMBWatch prize - a $20 Amazon gift card! That's right, tune in next time and use the #LAMBWatch hashtag and you could win a prize.

As with any Stallone film, the film got off to a very Stalloney start.




The film might be a little hammy and dated but, if nothing else, Demolition Man has an interesting cast:

Thankfully a literal earthquake was avoided. I'm not sure if we've avoided the metaphorical earthquake that is an Arnold Schwarzenegger presidency:

I kind of thought Stallone's banishment to ice prison was a little harsh and I never really understood why he was punished in the first place. Maybe this was why he was frozen:

Let's #LAMBWatch Demolition Man on September 7th!

LAMBs and LAMBettes! It's time for another installment of #LAMBWatch, where we (virtually) watch The LAMB Movie of the Month together and tweet along.

Break out the three seashells because this month's movie is Demolition Man, courtesy of Jay from Life vs. Film. #LAMBWatch is happening on Saturday, September 7 at 4:00 pm EST.

Our second installment of #LAMBWatch will be a little tricky in that the film's not on Netflix Instant (Double Indemnity was). I have Demolition Man on DVD so I'll be watching it that way but it looks like it's available for rent on Amazon Instant for $2.99.

#LAMBWatch is fairly simple - when the clock strikes 4:00 EST on the 7th, just hit play (you might want to do a run-through ahead of time to make sure that when you hit play you get the film and not some trailers or ads or something)! #LAMBWatch: Double Indemnity

Jess from French Toast Sunday and I recently hosted a new feature we're calling (for now anyway) #LAMBWatch. It's a simple enough concept - we (virtually) watch a movie together and tweet throughout, tagging our tweets with, you guessed it, #LAMBWatch.

The inaugural #LAMBWatch film was Double Indemnity, the current LAMB (Large Association of Movie Blogs for you Outsiders) Movie of the Month. I'd never seen the film before and watching it for the first ever #LAMBWatch was pretty fun. Below are some of the tweets. It was essentially just Jess and me this time around but hopefully more folks will join us next time. Keep in mind, some of these tweets are a little on the spoilery side!
